A little bit about us: In 1938, our great-grandfather and grandfather started Ball Chain Mfg. Co., Inc. in the garage behind their house in the Bronx, New York. We have a history of helping our in times of need. In World War II, our newly-formed company manufactured parts for the Thunderbolt fighter plane. In 2020, at the request of a local community leader, we formed Bona Fide Masks® to help address the shortage of PPE.

As 4th generation family owned and operated business, our mission is to bring authentic masks to everyone! We are a trusted U.S. military manufacturer that cares so much about our customers. We are proud that Bona Fide Masks™ is now the EXCLUSIVE distributor of Powecom ® products in the U.S. and Canada.

Authentic Powecom ® KN95 masks distributed by Bona Fide Masks® are only available through this site, Bonafidemasks.com. Our company handles all warehousing and distribution in New York, as supply chain security is one of our highest priorities.

We at Bona Fide Masks are 100% Committed to Bringing Authentic Masks that Meet Standards to Everyone that needs them at Affordable Prices.

It was well over a year ago during the height of COVID pandemic when a friend and local business leader contacted me to see if our NY based metal ball chain manufacturing company would be able to manufacturer masks for local hospitals and the public. I knew we would not be able to make them here with our current machinery, so I politely said no. I did, however, want to help so we started doing some research on masks and the industry which led us to Powecom and their KN95 respirator mask, which was FDA Authorized at the time. I knew we would need to find a company with an extensive history of mask making and high quality, and Powecom met every criterion.

Our supply chain experience and business integrity led us to establish a direct relationship with Powecom which allowed us to handle all the warehousing, shipping and fulfilment ourselves here in NY. This simple, direct, strong and transparent supply chain meant that we would only receive and ship authentic masks directly from the factory to our customers. We never, ever, buy from middlemen, agents, or 3rd parties. We never will.

We are a family owned business and have been since 1938 and our parent company (Ball Chain Mfg.) is the world's largest manufacturer of ball chains (www.ballchain.com) that you see on military dog tags, ceiling fans, handbags, light pulls, etc.. We make over 3 million feet of our ball chain per week, all here in the USA. Our company was started in a small garage in the Bronx, NY by my great grandfather and his son (my grandfather). We provide all the ball chains for the military and we take tremendous pride in everything we do. I was brought up to believe that you should treat people like you would want to be treated, keep your word and always do the right thing. This is how we approach our business as well.

We know full well that the market is confusing, but please know and rest assured that you can trust us and our business model. It is simply who we are and the way we work.
